This term, the Biology 11 students engaged in a hands-on field investigation about biodiversity. For their unit culminating activity, the students chose a local natural area to explore and completed field journal entries and photo documentation of their area. They then researched the organisms inhabiting the area to determine their ecological roles and interdependence with the biotic and abiotic components of the environment. Finally, they analysed human impacts on biodiversity and the approaches to conservation management for their chosen area.
